Dr Conrad’s practice is dedicated to providing high-quality specialist care while maintaining transparency about fees. Below is a guide to help you understand our fee structure.

All consultation fees are payable at the time of your appointment. Additional procedures such as IUD insertion or colposcopy attract additional fees. We accept EFTPOS, Visa, Mastercard, or cash.

Surgical Fees

The cost of surgical procedures varies based on the complexity of the operation, hospital fees, and any additional specialists involved (e.g., anaesthetists, pathologists, or surgical assistants). A detailed fee estimate will be provided during your pre-surgical consultation. This includes:

  • Surgeon’s fee (set at Australian Medical Association’s (AMA) recommended rates)

  • Medicare and private health fund rebates (if applicable)

  • Surgical assistant’s fee (if applicable)

Fees from other specialists involved in your care—such as anaesthetists or pathologists—are billed separately, and we are unable to provide quotes for these services. Our goal is to keep fees and out-of-pocket costs reasonable, particularly for families with private health insurance. For uninsured patients, Dr Conrad performs operations at The Sutherland Hospital under Medicare funding. Alternatively, a private surgical quote can be provided upon request.

Hospital Fees

Private hospitals may charge additional fees for accommodation, theatre use, and surgical consumables. These costs are typically covered by private health insurance, depending on your policy. Please confirm your coverage with your insurer. Our team is available to assist with navigating these details.

Pregnancy Management Fees

Managing your pregnancy involves comprehensive care and planning to ensure a safe and smooth journey. Below is an outline of the associated fees for pregnancy management:

  • Pregnancy Management Fee: A total of $4,300 is payable from 28 weeks gestation. This fee covers the coordination and management of your pregnancy care, including 24 hour a day, 7 days a week access to a specialist obstetrician to look after you. Medicare provides a rebate of $622.10 to assist with this cost.

  • Delivery Fee: For privately insured patients, the delivery fee is covered by your health fund. For those without private insurance, an $800 gap fee is payable at 34 weeks. This fee does not attract a Medicare rebate.

Our team is here to provide guidance on the fee structure and answer any questions you may have to ensure transparency and support throughout your pregnancy.

Fertility Services Fees

All fertility services are provided through City Fertility, and their fee structures apply. Dr Conrad collaborates closely with City Fertility to ensure seamless care. If a partner accompanies you to the initial fertility consultation, their consultation will be bulk billed. For detailed information regarding City Fertility’s fee structure, please contact their team directly.

Payment Terms

All surgical fees must be paid prior to the surgery date. If you have any questions about payment arrangements or assistance with Medicare and health fund rebates, our administrative team is here to help.

Cancellations and Rescheduling

Appointments cancelled with less than one business day’s notice will require a prepayment of the consultation fee to rebook. This prepayment will become non-refundable if the appointment is cancelled again with less than one business day’s notice. This policy ensures fairness to all patients, allowing us to accommodate those on our waiting list.
